Swim Parent NoteFOR SWIM FAMILIES

THE SWIM PARENT NOTE TOOLKIT

Meet day, handled.
Best times, in sight.

Team practice, lessons, meets and best times for every swimmer, in one place. Built around the way swim families actually live the season.

01

Heat sheets and meet announcements

Import a heat sheet or psych sheet PDF and your swimmer’s events, heats, lanes and seed times fill in, along with who swims in the other lanes. Scanned and photographed PDFs work too. Import a meet announcement to set the name, pool, dates, warm-up time and entry deadline. Or share a screenshot of your meet app straight from the screenshot editor to SwimParent.

Files and screenshots are read on your iPhone. Your swimmer’s events and times are kept, plus the lane list for their heats.

02

Meet day, handled

Pick a race reminder for each event, like “Don’t breathe into the finish,” and share the list with your swimmer. Tick off the packing checklist, with a reminder the evening before. Follow the meet-day eating guide, with meal and snack reminders.

Entry deadline reminders, too. You only get the notifications you turn on.

03

Results and personal bests

Enter results or add them from a results screenshot, with places, shown in the color of the level they reached. Import a full times report, PDF or screenshot, to fill in past results at once. Faster times become personal bests automatically, and each result shows the change from the last best.

Imported and entered times are parent supplied, not official results.

04

The next cut, color-coded

Compare each swim with the 2024–2028 age-group Motivational Standards, B through AAAA, in yards, short course meters and long course meters. See the next cut and the exact seconds to get there, color-coded by level. Filter by stroke and distance, or sort by the closest cut.

Courses always stay apart. A motivational standard is not a meet-entry guarantee.

05

Team practice, without the bookkeeping

Set the team schedule once, with different days and times for team and personal practice. Get a reminder before practice and a quick “Did they go?” check-in after. See team, personal and lesson time by month, season or year.

Only practices they attended count toward training time.

06

A lessons log that goes somewhere

Log private and group lessons with other coaches: time, cost, focus, what was hard, the coach’s feedback, the cue to remember and the homework.

See lesson time next to team and personal practice.

07

A lap timer for the pool deck

Tap Lap at each wall and Stop at the finish; laps become splits. Save with a 25 or 50 pool and the distance is worked out for you.

An iPhone timer. There is no Apple Watch app yet.

08

Technique, one skill at a time

68 skills across freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, starts and turns, with illustrations, common mistakes and practice ideas. Rate each skill from 1 (top priority) to 5 (solid), and Today suggests one to focus on, favoring the ones that need the most work.

Technique tips are general guidance. They don’t replace your swimmer’s coach.

09

Race videos that know the race

Link a race video to its meet and event: the title, heat, lane, time and who swam in the other lanes fill in, and a lane badge shows which lane to watch. The race start is suggested from the start beep; adjust it and cut the video to just before the start. Watch full screen by turning your phone sideways, and add or edit notes at exact moments.

With Pro: private cloud backup (5 GB) with Free up space on your iPhone, and Before & After: two races side by side, even from different meets, lined up at the start.

10

Season recap to share

Personal bests, seconds dropped, new cuts and practices for the season, with a progress chart for each event. Turn it into a picture for Instagram, Facebook or X, with or without your swimmer’s name and times.

Free. The picture never includes meet names, team or birthday.

11

Volunteer hours for the family

Log volunteer hours per team season, like timing or concessions, and track them against the hours your team assigns. Share a summary when the season wraps up.

Volunteer hours belong to the family, not one swimmer.

12

Your journal, yours

Each swimmer gets a separate journal. Everything is stored on your iPhone and backed up privately to your account. See how much space videos use in Manage storage. Export your journal any time, and delete a swimmer, or your account and its data, from inside the app.

There is no public feed, and nothing is shared unless you share it.
